Enthusiasm

Right now there are lot of businesses that are having a hard time here in Spain. Especially Real Estate Agencies.
There are various causes to why this is happening: Price of the properties, interest rates, exchange rates, etc.
Right, I'm just saying this because this is what I hear from the media, businesspeople and the guy you can meet down the bar everyday.
Media is probably the most responsible of them all. If we take 5 lone persons on an island and start telling them that soon there could be an earthquake and they'll run out of food, they'll probably start by not believing you too much. Keep repeating the message and give them some time and you'll find they've all turned very pessimistic, with no enthusiasm for anything and harvesting will stop. In fact, even if there is no earthquake you'll have influenced their lives so much that they'll become sad beings with nothing to look forward too and, yes, they’ll run out of food.
With the media it is exactly the same. We keep hearing that things are bad, that people have stopped buying properties and that everything is going bad. What has happened? Very simple, we have all become pessimistic and lost our enthusiasm and commitment.
And this in turn is making the market go bad. If we're not selling with enthusiasm then we're just not getting there or doing anything to make things get better, all we're doing is contributing to this general pessimistic feeling that you can feel country-wide.
Now, is this what we really want? No, of course not. We want things to pick up again. But maybe it's not necessary for them to pick up, maybe they've never actually dropped, it's just us that are dropping them.
Let's be sensible here. Everybody needs a property; it is a basic necessity in life. Are properties expensive? Not really, it is perfectly normal to pay a mortgage, our ancestors have done it and we have to do it too. Our clients were paying mortgages before and there were no problems, it's not that paying 100€ more because of the interest rates makes people not want to sign up any more mortgages.
I really do think we should start being optimistic about everything and start selling properties. Ask yourselves, how did you sell properties in the good times? You sold them in an optimistic manner, you knew the product was good and the price was right and you transmitted this feeling to your clients. That is why they bought.
Change is possible and we are more than capable. Tomorrow morning, when you open your office, remember to be optimistic, you have great properties and you have clients. All you have to do is link those properties to the clients and 'you're done'.

My first entry.

Well guys and gals. This is my first entry in this blogg.

Hope to keep it up. I don't know if anyone will be bothered reading it ever but anyway, there goes!

Today I'm trying to sell some products for my firm. I'm a guy who usually takes work quite seriously and work like if the firm was mine.

So, making a ton of follow-up calls and crossing fingers. We sell a good product so it usually isn't too hard to sell.

Had a fun time last weekend with my model helicopter. Quite a few friends came and we did a 'calçotada'. That is basically eating onions in a field. I know it sounds weird but it's cool. Onions and flight.
